Fate of Anaheim Rebuilding Plan
So the Anaheim redevelopment plan is dead. (Editorial, Aug. 9). Well, I’m kind of sorry but not surprised. A great deal of time and energy went into the plan, and I’m sure it contained many fine features. Apparently, however, little thought was given to its presentation to the public.
Newspaper accounts were rather sketchy and were written as a report of routine business of the city. Letters were sent to the residents announcing the presentation of the plan to the City Council. They were not delivered until one or two days before the meeting. Although they were sent by registered mail, their tone made them appear to be almost an afterthought.
If a new plan is contemplated, it is hoped that as much thought and planning will go into the presentation as into the plan itself.
