Taiwan Dropped From Liu Death Suit
United Press International
SAN FRANCISCO — A federal judge Thursday ordered Taiwan dropped from a $200-million wrongful death lawsuit by the widow of murdered journalist Henry Liu.
The only remaining defendants in the suit by Helen Liu are the six men convicted in Taiwan for plotting the murder of her husband, including three high-ranking officials in the government’s central intelligence bureau and members of the Bamboo Union gang.
American-born journalist Henry Liu, 52, was shot to death in the garage of his Daly City home near San Francisco in October, 1984.
