‘Missing Link’ of Road Started
Ground has been broken for completion of the 2.3-mile “missing link” segment of the Street of the Golden Lantern connecting Dana Point and Laguna Niguel in southern Orange County.
Shea Homes, Walnut-based builder of the 450-acre Bear Brand planned community in Laguna Niguel, has invested about $9 million toward completion of the thoroughfare that parallels Interstate 5.
At the request of Shea and other developers in the fast-growing Laguna Niguel area, Orange County created a 982-acre assessment district to complete the street and a small portion of Camino Del Avion. Completion is expected by the middle of 1988.
