A University of Washington official says the new 17,000-seat addition to Husky Stadium is completely safe despite the collapse of part of it during construction on Feb. 25.
“I’ve heard the (fears),” said Al Tarr, assistant vice president for facilities management at the university. “But this is an extraordinaryly safe structure. If there were any safety concerns, the city and the university wouldn’t let us play a game there.”
