FINAL NOTES: If you see a sign saying “Meet Mr. Mister” the next time you’re in a Von’s supermarket, it doesn’t mean the pop group is making an in-store appearance. The sign refers to a sprinkler device Von’s has installed to mist its fruits and vegetables. A band spokesman noted that the group’s name is a registered trademark, but manager George Ghiz was inclined to let the infringement pass. “Just so they don’t start manufacturing CDs,” he noted dryly. . . .

Albums by Sting and Martha Davis, among others, will be discussed in a six-week UCLA Extension course, “Breaking Record Albums From New and Established Artists.” The class, which begins Sept. 24, is modeled after UCLA Extension’s popular “Sneak Preview” class which screens movies before their release. Moderator is former KIIS-FM program/music director Mike Schaefer. . . .

The Lakers’ anti-drug rap record, “Just Say No,” was released last week by Capitol Records. Proceeds benefit the Forum Community Services, a nonprofit charity organized by Laker wives. The song--co-written by Angela Worthy, wife of Laker player James Worthy--could be a big hit: Remember, the Chicago Bears Shufflin’ Crew’s “Super Bowl Shuffle” went gold last year.
