Earl Drives to Victory in Lime Rock GTO

LAKEVILLE, Conn. — Bob Earl of Larkspur, Calif., survived a race in which only 20 of the original 44 starters finished and won the Lime Rock Camel GTO race Monday by five laps and a 20.517-second margin.
Earl averaged 86.942 m.p.h. for the 2 1/2-hour 150-lap event and posted his first victory for the Dingman Bros. Racing Pontiac Fiero. Second place went to the Toyota Celica of Chris Cord of Beverly Hills, Calif.
