A Sylmar man was arrested on suspicion of drunk flying after his single-engine plane made erratic approaches to Whiteman Airport in Pacoima and belly-landed with the wheels up. Dionne said officers smelled alcohol when they ran to the aircraft to see if McCoy was hurt. He said they found a .25-caliber pistol in the plane as well as a small amount of what they believed was marijuana.
