Clint Eastwood didn’t make Bob Norman’s day. The movie star mayor of Carmel-by-the-Sea, Calif., and his staff gave the TV anchorman-turned-mayor of East Haven, Conn., a “No, thank you” to Norman’s recent suggestion that the towns become sister cities. “I just thought it would be neat,” Norman said. “Both towns are on the coast of the United States, and both have Republican mayors that had other careers in (the) entertainment-news field before they got into politics.” Norman was informed in a letter that Carmel already has a sister-city--Pettra, Spain.
