One Lotto Player Wins $9.6 Million
SACRAMENTO — Someone in Stanislaus County picked the six correct numbers in the weekend “Lotto 6/49” game and won a $9.6-million jackpot while another player got the second-place $1.2-million prize, a spokesman said Sunday.
The jackpot ticket with the winning numbers was purchased in Riverbank, northeast of Modesto, said California Lottery spokesman John Schade. Names of winners will not be known until they turn in their tickets.
The $9,631,441 prize will be paid out over 20 years.
A ticket purchased in Walnut Creek came up with five of the regular numbers and the bonus number to win $1,274,967.
There were 279 tickets with just five numbers, each worth $2,354, and 12,065 tickets with four numbers, each worth $49. The three-number category produced 196,523 winners, each worth $5.
