Local News in Brief : Larry Flynt Hospitalized
Hustler magazine publisher Larry Flynt was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center early Tuesday suffering from a possible overdose of prescribed medication, Los Angeles police said.
“It may have been accidental,” Lt. Sergio Robleto said. “His daughter told police that it was an accidental overdose.”
After paramedics were called to Flynt’s Hollywood Hills home at 3:49 a.m., Flynt, 44, was admitted into the medical center, where he was in stable condition, hospital spokesman Ron Wise said. Police said that a medical report indicated he had a “recreational amount of narcotics” in his system.
Flynt’s fourth wife, Althea, 33, had AIDS and was found dead in a bathtub of the couple’s mansion on June 28.
