Spanish King and Queen in L.A.
Spanish King Juan Carlos and Queen Sofia arrived in California today, the last leg of their American tour, to the greetings of Los Angeles Mayor Tom Bradley and other local officials.
The tall, suntanned monarch exchanged greetings at Los Angeles International Airport with two dozen local officials and, after a brief color guard ceremony during which a U.S. Navy band played the national anthems of both countries, the king and queen boarded a limousine for a motorcade to City Hall. They are to spend two days in Los Angeles before ending their American tour Saturday in San Francisco.
