Inglewood : Anti-Drug Walk-a-Thon
The world’s greatest fast-break offense will slow to a walk Oct. 17 when the Los Angeles Lakers join an Inglewood walk-a-thon against drugs.
The 10-kilometer walk by Inglewood residents will raise funds for Inglewood DARE (Drug Abuse Resistance Education), a program being taught by Inglewood police officers in the city schools.
The Inglewood Coalition Against Drugs and the Laker Wives are sponsoring the event and the world champion Lakers of the National Basketball Assn. will be on hand for an opening ceremony at the Forum.
