Anaheim : Motorcyclist Killed, Other Hurt in Crash
An Anaheim woman died and a man was injured when their motorcycle crashed into the rear of a car making a left turn, authorities said Sunday.
Rosa Mendoza, 18, died Sunday morning at UCI Medical Center in the City of Orange of head injuries suffered in the Saturday night accident, a deputy coroner said.
Antonio Bautista Moreno, 23, also of Anaheim, was in fair condition Sunday at the same hospital, a hospital spokeswoman said.
Moreno and Mendoza were northbound on Haster Street just north of Wakefield Avenue at 7:30 p.m., when Moreno’s 1982 Honda 650 motorcycle crashed into the rear of a car driven by a 26-year-old Anaheim man, Anaheim Police Sgt. Ron Girk said.
Moreno and Mendoza were thrown from the motorcycle, Girk said. The car’s driver was not injured and no citation was issued, Girk said. The accident remains under investigation.
