RAMBOSIS
Regardless of the reviews that will follow the release of “Rambo III,” the message this film intends to convey will far outshine its merits (“Blood, Sweat, Dust,” by Pat H. Broeske, Oct. 11).
Sylvester Stallone said, “Look at this as a positive attempt to expose what is an open wound--and an unfair, unjust, genocidal situation that has no place on the face of this Earth.”
A holocaust continues to rage in Afghanistan as the Soviet Union and her armed might continue their program of genocide against the people of Afghanistan who oppose them.
But the liberals and some of our religious leaders and their followers who oppose aid to the contras in Nicaragua but support the Communist Sandinistas do not cry out in protest. They are quiet about Afghanistan. Damn them for their silence.
A bushel of thanks to you, Mr. Stallone, for making “Rambo III.”
