Pyramid in Oregon
As we approached the pyramid-like angular windowed structure we did not expect our host (Irv Tebor) to appear at the door in blue jeans and T-shirt. Arab garb would have been quite appropriate. He welcomed our stopping by to query what rooms he had to offer us for the night, with a tour of the entire magnificent modern house. That alone was worth the price of room and shared bath/sauna ($55), including a sumptuous breakfast. The stunning property sits on an isolated half acre near Ten-Mile Creek, facing the Pacific Ocean.
It was clearly a highlight of our Oregon vacation, as there are few extraordinary accommodations on the coast to compare with this gleaming interior of stone, tile, alder wood and stainless steel. Contact: Ziggurat, 95339 U.S. 101, Yachats, Ore. 97498, phone (503) 547-3925.
