A Pennsylvania billionaire donated a much-needed $5 million to the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the museum announced Friday. The $5 million, from Campbell’s Soup heir John T. Dorrance Jr., is the largest unrestricted individual gift ever given to the 111-year-old museum, a spokesman said. The money will be put toward the museum’s goal of raising $50 million for capital improvements by 1991.
