Westminster : Governor Names Choate to West County Bench
Gov. George Deukmejian on Monday appointed a Los Angeles prosecutor--who lives in Orange--to the West Orange County Municipal Court.
Dennis S. Choate, 41, a Los Angeles County deputy district attorney since 1972, replaces Judge Sidney Maleck, who was transferred from the courthouse in Westminster to the North Orange County Municipal Court in Fullerton.
The governor’s announcement said Choate has been an Orange County resident since 1979.
Choate, a Republican, graduated with a bachelor’s degree from UCLA in 1968 and received his law degree from Loyola University in 1972.
The annual salary for municipal judges is $74,432.
