Anaheim : Sony to Install Stadium Color Video Scoreboard

The City Council on Tuesday approved selection of a $5-million color video scoreboard system for Anaheim Stadium that will be built by Sony Corp.

The city established a task force more than two years ago to study the feasibility of replacing the old scoreboard system, which had become the object of much fan derision, according to city officials.

Sony’s proposal includes installing a color video system where the existing sepia board is located, as well as two black-and-white message boards to be located in right field and behind home plate, and two to four auxiliary boards.

The color board would measure more than 26 feet by 35 feet, while the two black-and-white boards would measure 20 feet by 40 feet.
