Donahue Enjoys a Luxury the Irish Can Ill Afford
I couldn’t avoid noticing the USC marching band’s persistence last Saturday in South Bend. Despite watching their team take a pounding on the field against Notre Dame, the discourteous, plastic-helmeted musicians from Troy struck up “Conquest” ad nauseam, as though they were gunning for some mention in the Guiness book.
Although the Irish fans began booing eventually at this blasphemy on their home soil, I’m surprised they didn’t pass each band member up and over the top of Notre Dame Stadium.
