Crenshaw 20, Banning 14--Quarterback Dan Robinson scored on a 6-yard run, threw a 6-yard touchdown pass to Michael Williams and returned an intercepted pass for a 51-yard score to lead unranked Crenshaw to an upset over The Times’ No. 4-ranked City team in a Pacific League game at Crenshaw. Robinson completed 8 of 16 passes for 138 yards. Charlie Clark was Banning’s leading rusher with 101 yards and 1 touchdown in 16 carries. Kenneth Williams scored the other Pilot touchdown on a 4-yard run. Crenshaw, which never trailed in the game, is now 2-4 overall and 1-1 in league play. Banning is 3-3 and 1-1.

Hamilton 25, Jordan 7--Running back Charles McKinzie gained 123 yards and scored twice to lead the Yankees to their first win of the year in a Crosstown League game at Hamilton. Quarterback Aaron Echols completed 6 of 9 passes for 50 yards. The Hamilton defense recovered three fumbles and had two interceptions. Hamilton is 1-5 overall and 1-1 in league. Jordan is 1-5 and 0-2.

SOUTHERN SECTION

Santa Monica 27, Mira Costa 3--Glyn Milburn ran for 207 yards and 3 touchdowns in 36 carries to lead the Vikings over the Mustangs in an Ocean League game at Santa Monica College. With Santa Monica trailing 3-0, Milburn accounted for 63 yards in a 67-yard drive and scored on a 4-yard run to give the Vikings a 7-3 lead with 2:47 remaining in the first half. Santa Monica made it 13-3 at halftime when Steve Macko threw a 20-yard touchdown pass to Tate Nelson with eight seconds remaining in the first half. In the third quarter, Santa Monica drove 55 yards, with Milburn accounting for 53. Milburn culminated the drive with a 7-yard touchdown run. With 1:37 left in the game, Milburn concluded the scoring with a 29-yard touchdown run. In seven games, Milburn has 1,768 yards in 206 carries and 29 touchdowns. Nick Satriano had 15 1/2 tackles and 3 1/2 sacks and Mike Prahbu had 12 tackles and 4 sacks to lead Santa Monica’s defense, which recorded 11 sacks for the second week in a row. Santa Monica is 7-0 overall and 3-0 in league. Mira Costa is 3-5 and 1-2.

Beverly Hills 32, Inglewood 6--Quarterback Jason Goldberg completed 12 of 25 passes for 177 yards and 2 touchdowns for Beverly Hills in an Ocean League game at Beverly Hills. Teammate Willie Crawford carried the ball 16 times for 102 yards and 1 touchdowns. In seven games, Crawford has gained 1,014 yards and scored 14 touchdowns in 149 carries. Beverly Hills, ranked No. 8 in the Southern Conference, is 7-1 overall and 3-0 in league play.

La Mirada 23, Glenn 7--Brad Alexander ran for 218 yards and 2 touchdowns in 30 carries to lead the Matadors over the Eagles in a Suburban League game at La Mirada. Kenefi Teo scored on an 80-yard run to give Glenn a 7-3 lead, which held up until the fourth quarter when Alexander ran three yards for a touchdown to give La Mirada a 10-7 lead with 3 1/2 minutes remaining. Two minutes later, Alexander ran six yards for a touchdown to increase La Mirada’s lead to 17-7. Sean Powell finished the scoring on the game’s final play with a 70-yard interception return. La Mirada is 4-4 overall and 2-2-1 in league play. Glenn is 5-3 and 2-1.

Muir 31, Arcadia 0--Paul Pitts caught two touchdown passes to lead the Mustangs over the Apaches in a Pacific League game at Arcadia. Pitts caught a 35-yard touchdown pass from Tarrel Amos to give Muir a 14-0 lead in the first quarter. Pitts’ second scoring catch, a 40-yard reception from Amos, gave Muir a 21-0 halftime lead. Muir, 7-1 overall, is 3-0 in league play. Arcadia is 2-5-1 and 0-2-1.

Eisenhower 21, Rubidoux 0--Dennis Collier ran for 184 yards in 17 carries and 2 touchdowns to lead the Eagles over the Falcons in a Citrus Belt League game at Rubidoux. Collier broke a 0-0 tie with a 12-yard touchdown run in the third quarter. Steve Hoak threw a 40-yard touchdown pass to Maurice Wilkins to make it 14-0. In the fourth quarter, Collier added a 48-yard touchdown run. Eisenhower, The Times’ No. 7-ranked team, is now 7-1 overall and 4-1 in league play. Rubidoux is 3-4 and 2-3.

Carpinteria 36, Agoura 6--Emilio Handall rushed for 134 yards, including a 35-yard touchdown run, in 17 carries to lead the undefeated Warriors to the nonleague victory at Carpinteria High. John Zanini rushed for 80 yards in 15 carries, and Carpinteria quarterbacks Coley Candaele and David Uhler each threw a touchdown pass. Carpinteria, the No. 1- ranked team in the Inland Conference, is now 8-0 overall and 4-0 in the Tri-Valley League. Agoura, the No. 7-ranked team in the Desert-Mountain Conference, is 5-3 overall and 2-0 in the Frontier League.

Claremont 14, Alta Loma 7--The Wolfpack opened up a 14-0 halftime lead on a 21-yard pass from Daraka Harper to Jesse Sanders and a 1-yard run by Antonio Clay and then held on to defeat Alta Loma in a Baseline League game at Chaffey College. Alta Loma made it 14-7 on Scott Figueroa’s 16-yard run after recovering a Claremont fumble at the 16. Alta Loma drove to the Claremont 10 but after a 10-yard penalty for holding, Scott Barnes intercepted an Alta Loma pass and the Wolfpack was able to run out the clock. Clarmemont, the No. 1-ranked team in the Eastern Conference, is now 8-0 overall and 5-0. Alta Loma is 4-4 and 3-2.

Los Altos 21, Charter Oak 0--The Conquerors, ranked fifth in the Eastern conference, held seventh-ranked Charter Oak to just 38 yards rushing and quarterback David Olson threw two touchdown passes in a Sierra League game at Los Altos. Running back Owen McIntosh rushed 18 times for 128 yards and an 18-yard touchdown run in the first quarter that put the Conquerors ahead, 7-0. Olson attempted only 11 passes--completing 6--for 117 yards but threw touchdown passes of 50 yards to tight end Jason Martin in the second quarter and 12 yards to running back Blake Hayward. Los Altos intercepted Charter Oak quarterback John Strycula twice and allowed him only 16 completions in 38 attempts for 150 yards. Linebacker Royce Risser recorded 15 tackles for Los Altos, which has held its past six opponents to under 50 yards rushing. Los Altos, 7-1 overall, is now 3-0 in league play. Charter Oak is 6-2 and 2-1.

Crespi 38, Alemany 14--Junior Russell White continued on his running rampage, collecting 223 yard and 4 touchdowns in 18 carries in a Del Rey League game at Crespi. On Crespi’s first play from scrimmage, White ran 80 yards for a touchdown. In eight games, White has gained 1,484 yards in 129 carries and scored 28 touchdowns. His average per carry is 11.5 yards. Crespi, The Times No. 2-ranked team is now 7-0-1 overall and 3-0 in league play. Alemany is 3-3-2 and 0-2-1.

Palmdale 14, Antelope Valley 12--The Falcons held off the Antelopes as Chris Yergensen missed a 31-yard field-goal attempt with 5 seconds remaining in a Golden League game at Palmdale. Palmdale took a 7-0 lead in the second quarter on a 21-yard run by Eric Thomas. Yergensen kicked a field goal for Antelope Valley to make it 7-3 at halftime. In the third quarter, Thomas ran 5 yards for a touchdown to make it 14-3. Antelope Valley rallied behind quarterback Ron Whipple, who completed 23 of 35 passes for 289 yards and 1 touchdown. Whipple threw a 10-yard touchdown pass to Shon Grimes with eight minutes remaining. Four minutes later, Yergensen kicked a 45-yard field goal to make it 14-12. After Antelope Valley stopped Palmdale, Whipple, who completed 13 of 14 passes for 176 yards in the final quarter, moved the Antelopes in position for a possible winning field goal, but Yergensen missed. In eight games, Whipple has completed 84 of 152 passes for 1,252 yards and 13 touchdowns. Palmdale, The Times’ No. 8-ranked team is 7-1 overall and 3-0 in league play. Antelope Valley, ranked No. 10, is 6-2 and 2-1.

Bell Gardens 31, La Serna 29--Bruno Gutierrez kicked a 28-yard field goal with 2:05 left in the game to give Bell Gardens the Whitmont League win at La Serna. Bell Gardens quarterback George Fimbres completed 10 of 20 passes for 244 yards and touchdown passes of 55 and 28 yards to Santos Barrientos and 46 yards to Mike Gilliam. Barrientos finished with 6 catches for 117 yards. Robbie Watkins led La Serna with 92 rushing yards and 3 touchdowns. Bell Gardens, 7-1 overall, is 5-0 in league. La Serna is 2-6 and 2-3.

Hart 31, Alhambra 0--Darren Renfro, the second leading passer in the Southern Section, completed 27 of 28 attempts for 335 yards and 3 touchdowns in the Foothill League game at College of the Canyons. In eight games, Renfro has complete 142 of 219 passes for 1,989 and 17 touchdowns. Joe DeSchryver had 7 receptions for 101 yards and Brian Allen added 6 catches for 80 yards for the Indians. Hart, The Times’ No. 9-ranked team, is 7-1 overall and 3-0 in league play. Alhambra is 3-5 and 0-3.

Central 76, Calexico 0--Gerald Robinson carried 15 times for 245 yards and 5 touchdowns in a Desert Valleys League game at Calexico. In eight games, Robinson has gained 1,305 yards and scored 17 touchdowns in 122 carries. Central, the No. 1-ranked team in the Southeastern Conference, is now 8-0 overall and 3-0 in league play. Calexico is 5-3 and 0-3.
