Orange County Prep Football : Rios Leads Unbeaten Woodbridge
John Rios scored two touchdowns as Woodbridge High School remained undefeated with a 14-6 victory over Laguna Hills Friday night in a Pacific Coast League football game at Mission Viejo Stadium.
The Warriors (8-0 overall, 3-0 in league play) scored first on a three-yard touchdown pass play from quarterback Fred Schweer to Rios with 2:09 left in the third quarter. After the extra-point kick, Woodbridge led, 7-0.
Rios, who rushed for 120 yards in 20 carries, then scored from four yards out with nine minutes left in the game to put Woodbridge ahead, 14-0.
Laguna Hills (1-6-1, 1-2) scored its only touchdown when Brad Prescott ran over from five yards out with four minutes remaining in the game. But the Hawks failed on a two-point conversion attempt.
Schweer completed 3 of 10 passes for 49 yards. Laguna Hills quarterback Chris Leigber completed 12 of 18 for 153 yards.
