Local News in Brief : Bradley Touts L.A. to Thais
Los Angeles Mayor Tom Bradley met Thai officials in Bangkok on Thursday in an effort to boost bilateral trade and draw Thai tourists to Los Angeles, an official of the Tourism Authority of Thailand said.
Somprasong Varamisra said Bradley called on Lt. Pongsak Vongsamoot, director general of the Port Authority of Thailand, and later was due to meet Yuk Nathalang, president of the Board of Trade of Thailand.
Bradley, who arrived Wednesday for a five-day visit, will meet his counterpart, Chamlong Srimuang, at City Hall today. Thai officials will host a dinner for Bradley and his delegation this evening.
He will visit the Grand Palace and tour Buddhist temples Saturday before departing Sunday for Japan.
