VIDEO CHARTS
During the next few weeks, “Lethal Weapon,” the top rental on the Billboard magazine chart since its release a month ago, will likely be challenged by “Outrageous Fortune” and the upcoming “Roxanne.” The current No. 2, “Tin Men,” is also in the running to take the top spot. Madonna’s “Who’s That Girl?” (No. 14) doesn’t seem to have long-range strength but, thanks to her name value it’s doing OK and may even creep into the Top 10. For a martial-arts movie, “American Ninja 2: The Confrontation,” is off to a bang-up start, debuting at No. 30 on the rental chart. “Lady and the Tramp” is still No. 1 on the sales chart, which measures sales to retailers and distributors. Stores are stocking up on “Grateful Dead--So Far.” For an unheralded music video, it’s doing great business--No. 12 on the sales chart.
* As expected, “Outrageous Fortune,” the female buddy comedy starring Bette Midler and Shelley Long, took a mighty leap this week--to No. 6.
