Local News in Brief : 22 Booked in Vice Sweep
Vice detectives arrested six women on suspicion of prostitution and 16 men on suspicion of seeking their services during a sweep along Imperial Highway in South Los Angeles, sheriff’s deputies said Thursday.
Two of the men were also booked on suspicion of auto theft during the vice operation Wednesday night, Deputy Dan Cox said.
The sweep from 5 to 10:30 p.m. was prompted by residents’ complaints that a hotbed of prostitution thrived along Imperial Highway near Hawthorne Boulevard, Cox said.
