Local News in Brief : Bike Trail Funds Alloted
An allocation of $3.6 million for Los Angeles County bikeway and sidewalk construction has been approved by the county Transportation Commission.
Projects receiving funds include:
Upgrading of the existing Los Angeles River-Rio Hondo Bicycle Trail ($800,000); construction of a six-mile off-street bikeway along Coyote Creek in the Santa Fe Springs-Cerritos area ($253,821); extension of the Laguna Dominguez off-street bike path ($160,000) and maintenance of the Sepulveda Basin Bikeway through the Sepulveda Recreation Area ($48,500).
The funds come from the state sales tax under the Transportation Development Act.
