New York financier Henry R. Kravis has pledged $10 million toward the construction of a Metropolitan Museum of Art wing housing European sculpture and decorative arts. The five-story wing will be named after Kravis, whose Kohlberg Kravis Roberts Co. specializes in corporate leveraged buyouts. The wing is part of a $51-million expansion program that began in 1971 and includes the Laurence and Preston Tisch Galleries for temporary exhibits, which will open next year with an exhibition of Degas paintings, and the Carroll and Milton Petrie European Sculpture Court.
