Santa Ana Jujitsu Club Given Olympics Grant
The Shoshin-Ryu Jujitsu Club of Santa Ana has received a $5,000 grant from surplus Olympic Games money to purchase new equipment and expand its program, officials announced.
The club, begun in 1978, serves about 25 participants ages 6 and up. Officials said the money will be used to purchase new throwing mats and protective equipment needed to allow more people to participate in the club’s activities.
The Amateur Athletic Foundation of Los Angeles, endowed with money from the 1984 Olympic Games, made the grant.
