Jets on San Juan Runway Clip Wings
SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico — Two American Airlines jets carrying holiday passengers clipped wings on the runway just before takeoff Saturday, officials said.
No injuries were reported and both 727 jets were able to taxi back to the terminal building at Luis Munoz Marin International Airport in San Juan, said Steve McGregor, a spokesman for the airline.
“Both planes had to return to the terminal, take the passengers off and were awaiting repairs to the wing tips,” he said. The passengers got on other American flights.
The accident involved Flight 905, which was bound for Miami and Chicago, and Miami-bound Flight 466.
