Irvine : Irvine Man’s Condition Critical After Accident
A 70-year-old Irvine man was reported in critical condition Monday night with major head injuries suffered after he failed to stop at a red light and a van struck his car, police said.
Kimh Van Hoang was westbound in a Nissan Sentra on Alton Parkway shortly after 8:30 a.m. Monday when he drove through a red light and was struck by a Chevrolet van northbound on Jamboree Boulevard, Irvine Police Lt. Pat Rogers said.
The driver of the van was uninjured and will not be cited, Rogers said. Hoang, who was not wearing a seat belt, was taken by helicopter to Western Medical Center.
