Local News in Brief : Countywide : Stanton, Hicks Win Anti-Fraud Awards
Supervisor Roger R. Stanton recently received a federal award for his efforts to prevent welfare fraud nationally.
Stanton was cited for supporting a model fraud prevention program in Orange County and then advocating it for statewide and national use. He was given the “Exceptional Service Award” from the inspector general of the Federal Department of Health and Human Services, according to a release from the supervisor’s office.
Dist. Atty. Cecil Hicks also received the service award for his encouragement and development of the program in the county. Honored with a separate award was Supervising Attorney Investigator Ron Sheehan for leadership and supervision of employees in the county program.
