Oakland police are investigating a case of a Vietnamese woman found sitting in a rocking chair, strangled with an electrical cord and robbed of her jewelry in the home she shared with her son and three grandchildren. On Thi Truong, 68, was discovered by a son as he returned home from a gardening job Friday afternoon, said one of her grandsons, Hai Phung. He said he and his cousins were in school at the time. “It’s easier to die in America than live in America,” said the Oakland High School junior.
