An avalanche swept down a dangerous mountain pass near Aspen, Colo., killing two skiers and leaving a third missing, authorities said. The bodies of two men were recovered at Pearl Pass, 17 miles southwest of Aspen. The search for a woman was called off at dark and rescheduled for Tuesday because of bad weather forecast for today, authorities said. A search dog also was missing. Because of deep snow the area is accessible only by skis or track vehicles, officials said. About a dozen skiers had spent the night in two huts in Castle Creek Valley, and the three victims were the first out on the trail, authorities said. Identities of the victims, from Glenwood Springs, were not immediately available.
