MGM/UA Communications Co.’s net fell 21% to $2.1 million for the first quarter ended Nov. 30, compared to the year-ago period. Operating revenue totaled $182 million, up 39% from the 1987 quarter. The company said the results reflect the substantial increases in revenue from the feature film area, primarily due to worldwide rentals of ‘The Living Daylights,’ and licensing agreements in the foreign free and pay television markets.
