OBITUARIES : Richard Link, 74; Investment Banker, Lecturer at UCLA
Richard M. Link, one of the best known investment bankers on the West Coast until his retirement in 1972, died Monday of pneumonia at Good Samaritan Hospital. He was 74.
Link joined the old Blyth & Co. in Los Angeles in 1945, which went on to become a national firm. There he became head of the corporate finance department in 1960, retiring after a merger.
He served on the board of directors and handled investment banking for such major California firms as Max Factor, Purex, Manasco, International Rectifier, Clary Corp. and Rand Tech.
Link also for many years was a lecturer for UCLA’s Extension Division.
Survivors include his wife, Clara, a son and daughter and four grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to any nearby blood bank.
