Libyan leader Moammar Kadafi paid a radical British leftist party nearly $1 million to spy on prominent members of the country’s Jewish community, the Sunday Times of London reported. The paper said it has a copy of an internal report on the finances of the Workers Revolutionary Party, drafted by opponents of WRP leadership before the party split up in 1985. According to the report, Libya paid the party about $960,000 in the late 1970s and early 1980s for information on Jewish members of Parliament and influential businessmen who were part of a “powerful Zionist connection.”
