British Stamp Art on Display at Design Center : Original Artwork for British Stamps on Display at Pacific Design Center as Part of UK/LA Festival
Through Thursday, an exhibit of original artwork for British Post Office stamp designs may be seen at the Galleria of the Pacific Design Center. This is the first time the original designs and stamps are being exhibited outside of London’s Post Office Museum; it’s part of the three-month UK/LA Celebration of British Arts Festival.
All stamps in the exhibit are for the years 1981 to 1987. One is the wedding stamp commemorating the marriage of the Duke and Duchess of York, who arrived in Los Angeles on Friday.
Agents for the British Post Office are sponsoring and attending the exhibit, selling first-day issues to souvenir and stamp collectors.
The Pacific Design Center is at 8687 Melrose Ave. Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
