In your article on the KNBC mini-doc “Romance in the Office,” you imply that it is the station’s attempt to prove that John Beard is a serious journalist. That is no longer necessary. A few years ago, Beard went to Lebanon to do a series of reports on the U.S. armed forces there. It was an excellent piece of work, bringing perspective about U.S. policy in that area, and the young men implementing it. Only a serious journalist could have done that.
