H. Cooke Sunoo, 42, an urban planner with the city’s Community Redevelopment Agency for the past 10 years, has been appointed as its Hollywood project manager effective March 15.

Sunoo will replace William Kellar who has resigned for health reasons, according to CRA spokesman Marc Littman.

The $1-billion-plus Hollywood redevelopment project, which encompasses 1,100 acres in the heart of Hollywood, is the CRA’s largest project outside the Central Business District.

Before joining the CRA, Sunoo worked for three years as a senior housing coordinator for the city’s Community Development Department, and for two years on Mayor Tom Bradley’s staff as a liaison with the Little Tokyo and Korean communities.

He is paid $65,000 a year.
