Local News in Brief : Woman Found Dead in Sun Valley House
The body of a 66-year-old woman, badly beaten and riddled with stab wounds, was found in a bedroom of her Sun Valley house by police after worried neighbors reported that she had disappeared.
Elvera Ferraris had been dead a few days when police found her body about 7:20 p.m. Thursday in her house in the 8700 block of Lehigh Avenue, Detective Robert Stemples said Friday. Ferraris had been bludgeoned and stabbed several times, he said. She last was seen by neighbors Monday.
Stemples said investigators found signs of a struggle, but the motive for the killing was unknown.
