Mayberry, Shannon Named to Coach All-Stars

John Mayberry, who coached Kennedy High School to the Southern Section 3-A basketball title this season, will coach the North team in the 23rd annual Orange County high school all-star boys’ basketball game this June.

Bill Shannon of Woodbridge, which reached the 3-A final this season, will coach the South team in the game, which will be played June 25 in the Bren Center on the campus of UC Irvine.

Vernie Ford of Fullerton will coach the North and Greg Yeck of El Toro will coach the South in the 11th annual girls’ game, which also will be played June 25 in the Bren Center.
