Debbie Dickmann pulled double duty, pitching the Cal State Northridge softball team to 3-0 and 3-1 victories in a California Collegiate Athletic Assn. doubleheader Wednesday at Chapman College.

Dickmann (12-2) threw a one-hitter in the first game, striking out three without walking a batter. In the second game, the sophomore right-hander gave up seven hits, struck out five and walked one.

“I didn’t want to throw her in two games,” Northridge Coach Gary Torgeson said, “but at least now we know she can do it.”

Dickmann pitched the second game in place of Lisa Martin, who was out because of a bruised sternum.

The Northridge offense was sparked by Kim Bernstein and Beth Onestinghel. Bernstein had four hits in the two games. Onestinghel had three hits and three runs batted in.
