Local News in Brief : Anaheim : Yorba Linda Woman Dies in Head-On Crash
A 32-year-old Yorba Linda woman was killed and her young son and two other people were injured in a three-car collision on Nohl Ranch Road Thursday, police said.
Deborah Ann Whitson was killed instantly when her car was struck head-on at about 9 p.m. by another car driven by Cynthia Riggs, 36, of Anaheim, police spokesman Rick Razee said.
Whitson’s 3-year-old son was taken by ambulance to Western Medical Center in Santa Ana where he underwent surgery for serious injuries, Razee said.
Riggs suffered several facial cuts and other minor injuries and was taken to Kaiser Foundation Hospital where she was treated and released, he said.
A third vehicle, traveling behind Whitson’s car, crashed into the two cars, Razee said. The driver, Paul Wilson, 42, of Anaheim, suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene by Fire Department paramedics.
Razee said Riggs was traveling eastbound on Nohl Ranch Road near Westridge Road when her car crossed the center divider, crashed into Whitson’s car and turned over.
He said there were no arrests and that the accident is being investigated.
