Costa Mesa’s Schwartz Wins in Speedway Race

Bobby Schwartz of Costa Mesa won the four-lap scratch main event Friday in front of 6,183 in the weekly speedway program at the Orange County Fairgrounds in Costa Mesa.

Bobby Ott of Balboa was second, Alan Christian of Huntington Beach was third and Brad Oxley of San Clemente was fourth.

Bart Bast of Auburn, Calif., won the eight-lap handicap main event. Keith Larsen of La Canada was second, Oxley was third and Ott was fourth.
