Local News in Brief : 2 Students Die in Crash
Two UCLA students were killed when the motorcycle they were riding collided with a tractor-trailer truck that was making a U-turn near the Los Angeles campus.
The students, who were not wearing helmets, were identified as John Rief, 22, of San Martin in Northern California, and his passenger, Jennifer Prouty, 25, of Westlake Village. They were riding on Sepulveda Boulevard near Montana Avenue about 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, said Los Angeles Police Detective John Gibson.
