Chris Honeycutt and John House, both of San Diego, were leaving a beauty salon in the 3800 block of National Avenue at 10 p.m. Saturday when they were hit by shotgun fire that came from a dark-colored Cadillac that contained several men, Sgt. Jim Long said.

About a half hour after that shooting, Denetta Harper and Cherell Jackson of San Diego were wounded as they stood at 47th and Market streets, Long said. The assailants, three men in a white compact car, fired numerous shots that also hit a parked taxi and a home.

Harper was in critical but stable condition Sunday at Mercy Hospital, a hospital spokeswoman said. Jackson was wounded in the back and released after treatment at UC San Diego Medical Center.
