Local News in Brief : Countywide : Phone Services Dispense Centennial Information
The county’s centennial organizers have opened two telephone services--one for people and one for computers--to dispense information on upcoming centennial celebration events.
Available on both lines is information on event dates, hours of operation, locations, admission fees, directions to events, general descriptions of activities and telephone numbers for detailed information.
Operators are available at (714) 859-4000 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., seven days a week and will answer questions about upcoming events.
Those with personal computers capable of telephone communications may call (714) 859-6000 24 hours a day and be connected to the information computer, which contains listings for all the more than 200 scheduled events. (Computer modem settings are: full duplex, 8 data bits, 1 stop bit, no parity, and either 300-, 1200- or 2400-baud.) Information is organized so that callers may ask for events by date and time, by general location, by name or by general descriptions.
