Local News in Brief : Anaheim : City Manager Named to State Fire Board
City Manager Bob Simpson has been appointed by Gov. George Deukmejian to the state Board of Fire Services, an advisory group to the state Fire Marshal’s Office.
Simpson replaces a resigning member and will serve on the board through 1990.
The board, which meets quarterly, develops technical and performance standards and approves curriculum for training.
Simpson served as Anaheim’s fire chief from 1980 to 1986 and previously was a deputy fire chief in Los Angeles County. He is a member of International Assn. of Fire Chiefs and the California Fire Chiefs Assn.
