Local News in Brief : Brothers Lost on Hike Turn Up in Altadena
A 10-hour search for two brothers lost in the Switzer Falls area of Angeles National Forest was called off Monday morning when the pair walked into a back yard in Altadena.
Chris Peters, 27, of Sunland, and Craig Peters, 31, of Burbank, left on a mountain hike at noon on Sunday. When they failed to return several hours later, family members contacted authorities.
About 20 members of the the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department search and rescue team, with support from helicopter crews, began a search at 9:15 p.m. Sunday.
Authorities said the search continued until 7:30 a.m. Monday, when it was halted after the men found their way out of the area and telephoned their mother. Neither was injured, aside from a few scratches, authorities said.
