Majestic Wine Corp.’s Liquor Barn, San Francisco, has announced the departure of one of its founding chief executives, Giles Clarke, 35. Clarke and President Esme Johnstone oversaw the acquisition of the discount retail liquor company from Safeway Stores nine months ago. Clarke is leaving to pursue personal interests in Europe. Clarke’s day-to-day management duties will be taken over by Johnstone, with support from Majestic Wine Corp. Vice Chairman Frank Berger.
