World record-holder Edwin Moses, making his first start of the year, won the 400-meter hurdles in 48.38 seconds, second fastest time in the world this year, in the Tucson Elite track and field meet at the University of Arizona.

Andre Phillips of the World Class AC was a triple winner. He took the 200 meters in 20.51 seconds, the 400 meters in 45.10 and the 110-meter high hurdles in 13.65. Ron Brown won the 100 in 10.29.

Women winners included Alice Brown, 11.39 in the 100; Jan Wohlschlag, 6 feet 3 1/2 inches in the high jump, and Becky Levi, 207-9 in the discus.
